Sick again, part deux
I was sick on October 26th. Stuffy nose, cough, just feeling kind of blah. Guess what? One month later and I'm sick again. It started on Sunday when I was feeling so good when I woke up. I ran to the store and got some Zicam because I was determined not to be sick again. I was wrong. Monday I was really tired. Tuesday I lost my voice. By the end of the day I literally had no voice at all. Yesterday, thank god we were off school, I still had a raspy voice but I felt great. This morning I woke with a slightly more stuffy nose and a cough. UGH!!! I still feel pretty good, just this ridiculous cough. This sucks big time. Not letting it get me down. I need to get some things done today and I'm doing them.
As for my business. I came up with a great, at least to me, idea of using Hawaiian quilt designs in things. I love Hawaiian quilt designs. I just had an idea as I'm sitting here, making earrings out of them with a small outer offset. Paint the offset whiteish and paint the design a color. Oh, I think that could work. Okay, writing it down. Okay, I'm back. Some more ideas popped up as I was writing this down. Anyway, I sat last night and traced a Hawaiian design into a vector in Illustrator. It was tedious but not hard. I found that I can do it while I'm sitting watching TV and that's awesome. Time to watch TV and work on my business. Win - win. So I started with what I thought was a fig design, but I'm not sure. I made it into a keychain. I just need to put some saying on it, I need to look up some in Hawaiian. Maybe like be safe, or drive safe, or I don't know. Something will come to me. I'm going to make a test one today and see how it comes out. I feel like the creative juices are already starting to flow. I just got so caught up in what others were doing that I could not find my place. I needed to find something I'm passionate about and enjoy making. Will it sell? I guess we'll find out. It's good learning for me even if it never sells. Learning to design my own stuff is definitely a good thing.
I've also think I've decided on a plan for my business. I think I'm going to devote the morning hours to my shops. I need to get Shopify up and running again and need to do some things on my Etsy shops. So that will be morning stuff, I'm freshest in the mornings anyway. In the afternoon I will devote to Illustrator and Procreate. Learning how to use these programs effectively and becoming a master at them. I wonder if I could get Illustrator, or Creative Cloud, on my iPad. Then I could check out Fresco - which I just learned about and is supposed to be like Procreate except for vectors - WHAT?????? Yeah, there is so, so much I don't know.
Okay, time to get moving. I'm going to print out the instructions for getting something laser ready, then I'm going to go through them with my keychain design. Then I cut it. Woo hoo!!!!
