Making progress on my goals
So one of my goals is that I workout consistently and I start weight training. Well, I've done that this week. I went to the gym on Monday and Wednesday, while Tuesday night I went the strength session. So now it's Friday and I'm sore as heck. I have another visit to the gym on the books for this morning and I'm trying to decide if I should wait until this afternoon. Hubby will be off playing golf so that's not a problem and maybe through the day my soreness will decrease. I don't know what to do exactly. I do know that I need to go to the chiro today so I'm going to schedule that.
As for other things, I have something on my mind and I can't quite work it out. I have the opportunity to do a dog show in 2 weeks that has the potential to make me a lot of money. A. Lot. Of. Money. It's in Scottsdale at one of the busiest places in general and they are adding dog events to it. Now dog people are crazy and will spend stupid amounts of money on their dogs. If I have the ability to personalize ornaments on site I have the potential of making lots and lots of money. The thing is, the little tiny laser that I have is slow. Really slow. The laser that I want for craft fairs is on sale right now for about $700 off. That's a good deal. Really good deal. The problem that I'm wrestling with is that, in spite of the fact that this place will be crowded with dog people and non-dog people, there is no guarantee that I will make any money at all. That's just the way craft fairs go. If I get this new machine, I will be able to personalize my ornaments as well as some dog bowls I have. I was even thinking of getting some tags so I could personalize them. Now as I said I have the potential to make a lot of money. It's a 5 hour show and I could conceivable make a couple of thousand dollars. Between just selling and customizing, I could be busy the whole time. I did a show next to a woman who personalized things with a giant laser and she was busy most of the day. If I stick to engraving, I could probably do 5 or 6 an hour for 5 hours that would be 30 or so ornaments at $25 a pop that would be $600 - $700 for the day. And that would only be on engraved ornaments. That wouldn't include the unengraved ones that I could sell. And if I had my little machine going too, I could do another 4 or 5 an hour, that would be an additional $500 - $600 for the day. Again, not to mention the things I could sell that don't need to be engraved. Butat the same time, I might not sell much. That is always a possibility. I've learned that the hard way. So I would be spending $200 for the spot and about $1800 for the machine and I might make next to nothing. Or I might make my money back in one day. I just don't know what to do but I need to make a decision today. I do have other Christmas fairs coming up and so I have the opportunity to make money at those. What to do, what to do?
Okay, after much debating and arguing with myself back and forth, I headed over to Amazon business and discovered that this machine had a $300 coupon. So I got it for less than $1500. I did it. It will be here on Monday.
Guess I just need to get everything else ready for this show.
