Throw down the gauntlet

like I did the other day and things get better. My calf has been painless for 2 days now and while I can still feel the muscle, it doesn't hurt anymore. I can walk relatively normally, I say relatively because I still find myself limping a bit and favoring the left side but I think that is more from habit now than anything else. I'm expecting pain, so I'm prepping for pain, but then not getting any pain. I do need to see the Chiro but missed my appointment yesterday. Bummer. Now I probably won't be able to see him until Tuesday. I really should find a chiro with better hours.  Anyway, I went into school on Wednesday and my feet ended up in agony from working in my classroom. Then, Thursday, we had some errands to run and went to 1800 different stores and ended with a visit to Walmart, and of course the items I wanted were all the way on the opposite end of the store from what Hubby wanted. Anyway, I ended up with extremely sore feet again. Not quite as bad as the day b

I AM DONE!!!

So, my restart the other day didn't go as well as planned. I never made it to the gym. Instead I decided to try an easy Supernatural. Bad idea. I made it so there were no squats or lunges (not that I do them anyway) and the portals stayed to the front, no twisting and turning. As I was standing there playing, I could feel my left and it didn't feel good. I kept moving it and shaking it when I could, but standing in one place for an entire song just did not agree with it. I'm sad. I spent the rest of the day sort of hobbling a little bit, not much. I did walk through a huge mall after my doctors appointment but the entire time I could feel my calf. Then I decided to do my PT exercises before bed that same night. They actually felt pretty good, but I didn't push any of the stretches. The next morning, yesterday, I woke up and could feel my knee/calf a bit. It wasn't enough to stop me from walking but I noticed while walking Mavy that I did limp a bit. Then I went to

Time to restart

I have rested my leg now for 7 days. It is feeling amazing. I can walk normally. My knee doesn't hurt. My back is still bothering me but I will make an appointment with my chiro for that. My feet still hurt when I first put my insoles in and walk, but that goes away. I think I just need to wear my insoles more. Once I have them in for a while they no longer hurt and I feel great. So I need to work on that. Otherwise I'm good. I can stand up and walk without having to hobble for the first few steps, I can just get up and go. So I think that it is time to get back into the gym. I'm going this morning and doing upper body. Tomorrow it will be lower body and I will just have to be careful with that. I also need to tackle Supernatural and I'm a little nervous about that. I'm thinking of doing it in shoes and not moving much. Hmmm....doing that this afternoon and I will have to think on that.  I need to clean up the eating too. I'm going to fast today since Hubby is

Happy Fourth of July

It's a Monday holiday for many people. It's just another summer day for teachers.  Leg update: nothing has really been helping. I've done nothing for almost a week now and the leg is definitely getting better. Last night I could stand and walk without having to test it out first. During the night I got up to use the bathroom and had no real problem walking. So we are definitely on the mend. Every morning when I walk Mavy, I put my shoes on and they have my big, thick insoles in them. After walking for just a few minutes they make my feet hurt. But then if I keep walking, the pain goes away. I can't figure out if they get sore because I don't wear them all the time like I do during school, or if there is really something wrong. But I think if there was something wrong, the pain wouldn't go away after a while. What I do know is that my step count has been below 5,000 for almost a week now. That has to change. I know that adding more steps will definitely make my

Planner Peace! ?? or back to simplicity

I got the new inserts for my Traveler's notebook yesterday and I think I may be in total love. They are pretty simple, a monthly layout in one book, and a weekly layout in another book. They are all undated so I sat yesterday and dated the monthly calendar all the way until December 2023. I am set as far as the calendar goes. I'm excited about that. One of the problems with larger, undated planners is that you run out of months. Most only have 6 monthly calendars. Most dated planners have 12 months, but they are large and bulky. My Traveler's notebook is small and yet has all I need. I do not have time for all the decorating and fancy planning. I need something that will keep me on track and make me not forget things. Here is what it looks like:  Here is what it looks like. I bought this leather cover because I loved it and then I didn't use it much. I love the leather.  This is the monthly book. I love it. It is big enough to write things in, but small enough to carry
