Rough Day

So yesterday ended up being very rough. I got up, meditated, blogged, and headed to the showers. After the shower I walked Mavy then headed off to the gym (I'll come back to this in a minute). After the gym we had a boatload of errands to run. First it was to the Roadrunner Tent Sale in Tempe Marketplace. That was a zoo. We waited in line for a little over an hour to pay for our purchases. Then it was off to the Business Costco to stock up on snacks for the Science Bowl cart and drop them off at school. Next it was In n Out for some lunch. Then to the regular Costco to get stuff for ourselves, then finally home. It doesn't sound that bad when listed out like that, but all that stuff took over 5 hours to do. We left the house at 10 am and did not get back until 3:30pm. Ugh!!!!! And I was hanging a bit due to poor sleep and not enough water the day before. Yeah, it was rough. Haven't had a day like that in quite a while and I don't miss them at all.  Today will be anothe

Four Peaks Thirst for Adventure Dinner

Last night a local brewery held a beer pairing dinner. It was in the mountains with Four Peaks in the background (that's what the brewery is named after) and it was lovely. We had 5 courses and 5 beers. When we arrived they gave us trail mix and some of their hard seltzers. It was really great. We sat across from a really nice couple and had a great time with them. Thankfully they were very friendly and easy to talk to so that helped make it enjoyable. I won a raffle basket. Woo Hoo!!! Some stuff from Zion National Part, a water bottle, coffee cup, and some books. It's really nice. That was such a great night. Really enjoyed it.  I was thinking about it though and I thought, we don't do things like this anymore. We have gotten into a serious rut with work and going to bed early and just not going out and doing much. As I thought this, I was like that's a bummer. Then, the more I considered it, I realized this is what I like. I like going to bed early and getting up ear

Thoughts on working out

I have a vision of what working out looks like in my mind. It involves a lot of sweat, pushing myself to do things I don't think I can, and a lot of cursing. That also pretty much describes Crossfit. Since I've joined EOS I haven't been able to get into a workout groove. At this point, I can only really go on the weekends and it's hard to get a habit going when you are ignoring it most of your week. Then I honestly don't know what to do. I do have AltShift lift to follow but it is honestly pretty wimpy. It does not push me in any way. And that becomes a problem in my mind. Because my vision of workouts is like above. I know that is ridiculous and it's time to drop those thoughts. I kind of got into it on DMSC yesterday and when it comes down to it, I realized I'm just over it. It's one of those things I'm just tired of thinking about and worrying (not really) about and I'm just done. So I need to place my workouts on autopilot and just let them

Sunday

So yesterday ended up being an interesting day. We redid the front room and have been waiting for Bob's Discount Furniture to get the electric fireplace we ordered here. It just kept telling us Mid-December. Well, the room is mostly done and it really looks amazing, all we need is the fireplace. So yesterday we decided to go to American Furniture Warehouse to see if they had one we liked in stock and then we could cancel Bob's and finally get that room done. First of all, AFW - OMG!!! What a place. They have tons and tons of furniture in all kinds of options. Love that place. Will probably always go there when looking for furniture. Anyway, after much looking we stumble across one that is similar in color to the bookcase and has barn doors. The salesman looks it up and there is a few in Colorado and they could have it here in a few weeks. Done, we're in. We buy it. Then we notice a fire pit patio table that is really, really nice. It was sitting outside so we sat at it for
