The best laid plans

still seem to go awry. I got my Precision Nutrition yesterday. There are some great recipes. The eating plan is pretty simple and basically what I have been doing for the last 6 months. Eat 6-7 times a day. When I follow this I find that I don't need to eat a lot, in fact I can't, and none of my meals end up being over 300 calories. Eat lean protein with every meal. This one I have a little trouble with and I'm really going to have to work out a menu over the weekend to get more protein. Don't drink your calories. That's easy I drink water almost exclusively, except for the occasional beer :) Eat veggies with every meal. I eat a lot of veggies, probably 10-12 servings a day, but there is always room for more. There's more I just can't think of them right now. Anyway, it's pretty straight forward I just need to follow them.

The last couple of weeks I've been slacking in my eating and it's really showing. My pants are a little tighter and I'm way more tired. The best part about eating right is the energy, and it's not this frenetic energy, it's steady state energy all through the day. It's the energy where I look at my watch and realize it's 4:30 already. It's the energy to come home and do things then go to bed and fall quickly to sleep. I like that kind of energy.

So tomorrow is inventory of the food stores here. See exactly what I have and what I need to get. Then Sunday is shopping, chopping, and cooking. I'm going to chop up veggies so I always have them available. I'm going to cook all my lunches for the week so I don't even have to think about it, just grab out of the freezer and run. I'm also working up a menu for dinners that hubby (who does almost all the cooking) has agreed to follow. It should be a really good week. I know what I want, I know what I need to do to get it, I have a plan. I think I'm ready.

Failure to plan is a plan to fail.

Right, so the title of this post..... I got up this morning with every intention of working out. As I brushed my teeth I did something to my neck and it's now sore as hell. I didn't know brushing your teeth could cause injury:) Well, that's okay, I feel like the Pillsbury Doughboy know, not working out will insure I feel that way all day. Yet more inspiration for my weight loss battle.

Think of eating mostly as re-fueling for energy and your running...not for pleasure. And coming from someone who loves to eat, that is hard for me to follow-but easy for me to say. So...don't buy it...don't bring it home and then it won't be consumed...but you know all this! You can do it...we all fall back once in awhile! Keep moving forward!
(Hey, I made reservations for Maui yesterday....to go to the Xterra World's...!!! Got in as an "at-large" entry!) Is Wendy going to be there this year ?
