Day 3, woo hoo!!!!

Another good start to the day. I really like swimming now. Knowing what I'm doing, as far as stroke etc, and having a program to follow makes a huge difference. I look forward to my swimming mornings. Today was Force 1 and it looked like this: Warm up : 300 sw 300 k: 19:58 Main Set : 6 x 150 pull (:20 RI) 3:15, 3:22, 3:29, 3:27, 3:49(didn't hit watch for RI), 3:31 6 x 100 pull (:15 RI) 2:27, 2:31, 2:20, 2:28, 2:30 (whoops, only did 5) 6 x 50 pull (:10 RI) 1:17, 1:09, 1:07, 1:09, 1:12, 1:09, 1:11 Cool Down : 100: 4:25 (50 breast, 50 side) It really felt good today. I could feel my lat muscles working, which is where you're supposed to pull from so that's good. I could also feel the extension all the time. I did discover that I have a tendency to not follow through on my stroke. I focused for a while on finishing the stroke and then pulling the elbow high to begin the next stroke and I could feel the difference. I felt like I was getting further with each stroke. I just w

Fugitaboutit! I was practically just floating along on the backstroke. I'm pleased though. I pushed myself but not so hard I exhausted myself. When I was done I was tired in a good way. Now I feel just great.

No Excuses!!!!

I'm reading everyone's blog about how they are getting ready for Ironman or 1/2's. Some are off to IMC this week. IMMOO is in less than a month. IMFl is rapidly approaching. It really makes me feel like a slacker. I've decided to take a page out of Comm's book. From now through Labor Day it's NO EXCUSES . That's 13 days of no holds barred training. Every morning it will be up at 4:30. Every evening it will be stretching and core work. For the next 13 days I'm going to workout like it's my job. I need something to push me. I'm working out regularly but I feel my hearts not in it. I need a good kick in the butt. But now, it's off to work :(

A busy weekend

Here's what I did this weekend: This is Mango. Mango is a 4 year old Senegal Parrot. She is just the cutest thing. She's tame and does tricks and is pretty cool. The hard part is getting her used to the dogs and vice versa. She already flew off her perch onto the floor and into the mouth of Nala the pit bull. Luckily it happened so fast Nala didn't know what to do and she's not a killer. She would lick Mango to death but she wouldn't kill her. Nala does like to stand at Mango's cage and bark, that's great, let's make the bird neurotic!!! Anyway, that's what I did with my weekend. What you do with yours??
