Woo Hoo!!!

So, about 4 weeks ago I bought this. It's nothing special, just an old 10 speed bike. I've been wanting to get a road bike for awhile but really just didn't have the money. I found this puppy on Craigslist for $85.00 in my size and I jumped on it. I took it in to the bike shop for a tune-up and got to talking with the mechanic. I was telling him how I really hated the drop handlebars and how I didn't like where the brake levers were. He made some recommendations and suggestions (some of which he's done to his bike - same kind) and 4 weeks later I get this:

I took it out for a ride this afternoon and it is now a totally kick-ass bike. My orginal intention was to use this bike for a year or two and then spend $1200 on the one I really want. But I liked it so much on the ride this afternoon I don't know if I'm going to want to give it up. Tomorrow morning is the big test. If it's not raining I'm going to take a long ride and really test it out. I can't wait.

So this morning I got up and did The Firm for the first time in months and months. It kicked my ass. I was in physical pain (particularly the thighs) and out of breath and doubted I was going to make it to the end. But I did and I learned a very important lesson. I have to do aerobics. Running and biking are all good but aerobics is my passion and something I have to do regularly. So I'm going to start doing that. I don't know exactly how I'm going to fit running and biking in along with my swimming but I'll try.

Anyway, feeling really good today and looking forward to getting back in to regular exercise. Oh yeah, I was down .4 lbs, that's always good.....
